Favorite Venice Pictures

Hey! I am finally getting around to posting some of my pictures from my recent trip to Italy.
I will start with the Venice pictures. We flew into Rome and then took the train to Venice. When we got there my Mom had written down all these directions on how to get to our hotel, but after about 10 minutes of wandering around, we finally gave into the fact that we were probably not going to be able to find our hotel on our own. Venice is full of streets with dead ends, bridges and winding streets, so we took a boat taxi to our hotel, which turned out to be really amazing since we got to see the city from the water.

This is a statue at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. Peggy Gueggenheim lived here and donated her home so that it could be turned into a musuem when she died. She was the person who discovered Jackson Pollock.

These are pictures Mom and I took in the back of the museum, which overlooked the water.

Cool art at the museum.

The Yoko Ono wish tree that she gave Peggy Guggenheim. We made wishes.

Her and her dogs were buried in the court yard.

Our first meal: pizza, wine and salad. Followed by gelato of course!

Italy Lessons

Pictures coming soon! In the meantime, here is something my mom found that I wanted to share. We agree with these lessons!

Lessons learned from Italy:

1. Take a break

2. Eat good food

3. Drink just enough

4. Slow down

5. Love the ones you’re with

My Summer: Part Three

This summer ended with my mom's Labor Day visit to NYC for the long weekend. We went shopping, out to eat for Mexican, Shake Shack and Greek food and also visited to Guggenheim.
We also went to the Financial District so that my mom could see the new area where I work, right next to the New York Stock Exchange, off of Wall Street. You can also see the Statue of Liberty from the close-by Battery Park.

We also made a trip to South Caroline for Shawn's cousins wedding. It was quite the family reunion as well. Above is a big group shot of Shawn and I with his cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and other family.

We also went camping in upstate NY with some friends. The dogs had a great time as well!
Overall, this summer has been tiring, there has been a lot of road trips and not much time at home, but it was well worth it all. Hope you guys all had a wonderful summer as well!

Shawn and I made a trip to Michigan to visit his family for July 4th.
Michigan consisted of eating delicious healthy food, water skiing, tubing, swimming, jet skiing, taking Olive on long walks, kayaking, boating and lots of other fun times!!

My Summer: Part One

This summer has been a lot of fun. Lots of travel and lots of reconnecting with old friends and family. My summer really began with a trip to Vermont over Memorial Day weekend, but I didn't take any pictures while I was there. I then went to my friend Karen's bachelorette party in Northampton, Mass. Then Shawn and I went to Cape Cod, Mass. to celebrate their wedding.

Caroline also came to visit this summer to NYC, where we celebrated her birthday, went to Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, among other things. (Pictures appear after the wedding photos.)

Soon afterward, I boarded the train and made my way to Baltimore, Md. to see my high school friend Cassidy. We went out for crab cakes, out dancing and to see Phish. (The last two pictures are from Baltimore.)
